Pioneers Ranked No.12/16 in Latest Rankings

DENVER – The University of Denver women’s lacrosse program jumped eight spots in the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association Poll to No.12 and received 136 points. DU moved to No. 16 in the deBeer Media Poll and received 44 points this week.

Maryland remained No. 1 in both polls. The Terps have a 14-0 record and received every first-place vote in both polls.

Denver is coming off a 2-0 week with wins against Mountain Pacific Sports Federation rival and then No. 10 Stanford, 14-10, and MPSF opponent UC Davis 13-11. The Pioneers improved to 5-0 in league play and 13-1 overall.

DU is ranked No. 9 in the first released RPI poll of the season, which was released on Monday.

The Mountain Pacific Sports Federation-leading Pioneers enjoy a week off before heading on their final regular season road trip for games against California (7-4, 4-0 MPSF) on Friday, April 19, and St. Mary’s (3-6, 1-3 MPSF) on Sunday, April 21.
