Box Score DENVER – University of Denver men’s soccer senior defender Theodor Remman (Hosle, Norway) scored and added an assist, helping the Pioneers tie Bradley 2-2 at CIBER Field on Friday night.
“I think when we played the way we wanted to play and find a little bit of a rhythm, especially in the first half, I thought we were successful,” head coach Bobby Muuss said. “The one thing we didn’t want to do was let the game get stretched and go end to end, and that’s what you saw in the final 45 minutes. I give a ton of credit to Bradley. They caused us a lot of problems tonight.”
The Pioneers (1-3-2) took the lead just nine minutes into the game, junior Brian Hoyt (Denver, Colo.) sent a bending corner kick to Remman, who bounced a header just inside the far post.
Ten minutes later, Bradley’s Andrew Brown took a corner, which Wojciech Wojcik headed toward the goal and Alexi Davies-Campbell deflected in with a header.
Denver reclaimed the lead in the 35th minute. Remman sent a pass up the left side of the field, and sophomore Reagan Dunk (Dallas, Texas) booted the ball from the corner, and the ball went through the outstretched hands of goalkeeper Brian Billings.
Ross Williams tied the game for the Braves (3-2-1) in the 71st minute, taking a deflection and firing a shot from the top of the box.
The Braves out-shot Denver 27-18 and led 6-4 in corner kicks.
The Pioneers have their next game at CIBER Field against the San Diego State Aztecs Sunday, Sept. 22 at 1 p.m. MT.
