Box Score Portland, Ore. – University of Denver men’s soccer freshman Eric Kronenberg (Boulder, Colo.) scored his first goal as a Pioneer as DU got its first road win of the year, 1-0 on Friday night.
“I’m extremely proud of the boys tonight,” head coach Bobby Muuss said. “This was the ultimate team win tonight on the road against a very good Portland team. Although it was not our best performance of the year we found a way to win. I couldn’t be prouder of the group.”
Denver (3-3-2) scored the only goal of the game in the 65th minute off a cross from senior Zach Bolden (Denve, Colo.) from the left side. The Pilots fell to 4-3-0 with the loss.
Junior Oliver Brown (Louisville, Ky.) stopped three shots in route to his second shutout of the year.
The Pioneers have now earned a point in each of their last three games and lead the Summit League by four points.
DU returns home with a game against Cal Poly on Sunday, Sept. 28 at 7 p.m. MT. Fans interested in purchasing tickets can do so by phone at 303-871-2336, in person at the Richie Center box office or through the DenverPioneers.com.
