Oct. 30, 2014 DENVER -University of Denver men's soccer captain Taylor Hunter (Aurora, Colo.) has been named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District 7 First Team, the College Sports Information Directors of America announced today. It is the third time Hunter has received this honor.
Hunter, a senior finance major with a grade point average of 3.92, has proven to be an iron man for the Pioneers. He has started 57 games overall for DU and this season has played in every minute of all but one game. He leads the team in minutes played with 1,378 and has provided the leadership demanded of him by Denver head coach Bobby Muuss.
"I am very happy for Taylor on being named Academic All-District," said Muuss. "This is the third year in a row for Taylor and I could not be more proud of him. He continues to show, day in and day out, the true meaning of a student-athlete. He is a special young man and I am both happy and lucky he is a Pioneer."
Hunter's final regular season home game at CIBER Field will be Saturday November 8th versus Summit League foe Western Illinois. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. MT.
