Cutler Named Women's Golf Assistant Coach

July 14, 2014

DENVER - Former Princeton head coach Nicki Cutler has been named the new University of Denver women's golf assistant coach, head coach Lindsay Kuhle announced on Monday. Cutler replaces Erik Billinger, who took the DU men's head coaching position in June.

"I am so excited to announce that Nicki Cutler will be joining our women's golf program," Kuhle said. "Nicki had a wonderful junior, college and professional career and has now been coaching for seven years. She has great experience at the professional and collegiate levels, at top ranked academic and athletic institutions, with Vanderbilt and Princeton. I know she will bring some great ideas to our team, is a hard worker and has tremendous passion for mentoring student-athletes, golf and the city of Denver. I couldn't be happier to have Nicki onboard and back in Colorado to work with the Pioneers."

Cutler was a standout junior golfer in the state of Colorado, while playing at Kent Denver and Cherry Creek High School. Kuhle and Cutler competed against eachother in junior and college golf tournaments, playing at Tulane and Vanderbilt, respectively.

"I am excited about the opportunity to work with Lindsay," Cutler said. "I grew up in Denver and have followed the program since its inception. I look forward to being a part of the program going forward and being back in Denver."

In her four seasons at Princeton, Cutler guided the Tigers to three top-three finishes at the Ivy League Championships, finishing runner-up in both 2013 and 2014. Cutler coached 2014 alumnae Kelly Shon, who was a two-time Ivy League Player of the Year, and became the second player in Ivy League history to play in the NCAA Championships, when she qualified in 2013.

Cutler finished her collegiate career at Vanderbilt in 2003, before playing on the LPGA Tour in 2005 and the Duramed Futures Tour in 2005 and 2006. The Denver native then returned to her alma mater where she spent three seasons as an assistant coach, before transitioning to Princeton in the summer of 2010.
