DENVER - University of Denver women's lacrosse senior Kiki Boone (Cherry Hills Village, Colo.) and graduate Meredith Harris (Middleburg, Va.) were named to the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Academic Honor Roll list, awarded to student-athletes who achieve a cumulative academic GPA of 3.50 or greater.
"'Dish' and Kiki are such wonderful examples of what University of Denver lacrosse players strive to be: their best in the classroom and on the field," head coach Liza Kelly commented. "I am proud of how hard these two young ladies work. They set the bar high for all of their teammates."
Last year, Boone played in all 21 games, tallying 22 points on 19 goals and three assists as well as a .818 shots on goal percentage (27-33). The Integrated Sciences and Spanish major was also named an Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) All-Academic Scholar-Athlete for maintaining a 3.0 cumulative GPA or better.
Graduating with an accounting degree, Harris played in 21 games, ranking second on the team in points with 76 (58 goals, 18 assists), including three game-winning goals and a .547 shot percentage. She also earned MPSF All-Academic Scholar-Athlete Honors from 2012-14, and is currently pursuing a master's degree in accounting.
Last week, the IWLCA announced that the Pioneers earned their fifth-straight Academic Squad honors for the 2014 season, an award given to groups who achieve a 3.0 GPA or higher. In the 2013 season, Denver went 19-2 overall and 9-0 in the MPSF.
