DENVER - Skyler Milne's goal in the 74^th minute snapped a 1-1 tie and proved to be the difference in Utah Valley's 2-1 upset win over 21^st ranked Denver Friday night at Clyde Field in Orem, Utah.

"I thought we played with a lack of energy," said Denver head coach Bobby Muuss. "We knew exactly what to expect but we didn't execute. Too many players we rely on didn't have great games tonight."

After scoreless first half, the Wolverines drew first blood in the 64^th minute on a sensational 25-yard blast by Lucas Cawley that flew over goalkeeper Oliver Brown.

The Pioneers answered just six minutes later when Ryan Dodson, on a free kick from the left wing, found Eric Kronenberg cutting to the far post. Kronenberg headed it past keeper Collin Partee to even the score at one apiece. It was Kronenberg's fourth goal of the season, tops on the Pioneers.

The winning goal by Milne came off a long counter attack. Cawley, in the box on the left side, passed the ball to Milne who found some space in front of the goal and slid it into the side netting, sending the overflow crowd into a frenzy.

"To be a good team and the team we want to be, we need to find ways to win games like this," Muuss said. "We need a couple of guys to step up in the clutch. The guys are very, very disappointed individually and collectively. We can't feel bad because we have a very good Portland team to play Sunday."

The Pioneers drop to 4-3-0 on the season, all three losses coming away from CIBER Field. The Wolverines improve to 3-2-0.

Denver returns home for a late Sunday afternoon tilt versus Portland. The Pioneers are 4-0 at home this season and have won 10-straight on their home field. Kickoff is slated for 5 p.m.
