Dec. 11, 2015 NSCAA Release
DENVER - University of Denver junior right back Reagan Dunk (Dallas, Texas) has been named a National Soccer Coaches Association of America Second Team All-American, the NSCAA announced on Friday. Dunk is the first Division I player in program history to be named an All-American.
The DU junior started all 19 matches for Denver in 2015, playing 1774 of DU's 1795 minutes in the campaign. Dunk is 30th in the country in assists with eight from his outside back position, and was the most experienced player on a Denver backline that allowed just eight goals this season. Of his eight assists, five were on game-winners.
Denver's 0.40 goals against average and its 0.63 shutout percentage were the second best numbers in the country in 2015. The 2015 Summit League Defensive Player of the Year and the rest of the DU defense allowed just 2.5 shots on goal per game en route to keeping a Pioneer record 12 shutouts.
The Pioneers finished the campaign with a 15-1-3 record, dropping their NCAA Second Round clash with SMU on November 22 by a count of 1-0 in extra time. Denver loses just two seniors from its roster heading into the 2016 season in redshirt-senior goalkeeper Dan Jackson (Chapel Hill, N.C.) and defensive midfielder and four-year contributor Jordan Schweitzer (Everett, Wash.).
