Dec. 18, 2015 DU Names Tom Hogan Volleyball Head Coach
DENVER - University of Denver volleyball assistant coach Katelin Batten will remain at Denver on Tom Hogan's staff as the first assistant coach, Hogan announced Friday. The Pioneers will conduct a national search for the second assistant coach.
"I am extremely proud to promote Katelin to first assistant," Hogan said. "Over the past four years, she has grown from a young, eager coach to one of the top assistants in the country. Much of our program's success can be attributed to her hard work and dedication. Having her passion and expertise on board will help drive our program to new heights."
In her four seasons at Denver, Batten has helped the Pioneers to an 88-41 record, including back-to-back 27-win seasons in 2014 and 2015. The Pioneers also won the Summit League Championship and earned their first two bids to the NCAA Tournament in 2014 and 2015.
Batten has guided the liberos and defensive specialists to success over the past four seasons. In 2014, libero Kate Acker earned Summit League All-League honors for her senior campaign. Denver's libero Cassidy Rooke earned Summit League Defensive Player of the Week and finished third in conference with 4.48 digs per set, ranking her in the nation's top 100 players. Rooke also finished first in the Summit League with 574 total digs.
