Nov. 27, 2016 NCAA Bracket | Summit League Final Recap
INDIANAPOLIS - The University of Denver volleyball team will face sixth-seeded Stanford in the 2016 Volleyball Championships, the NCAA released during its selection show on Sunday. The matchup is slated for Friday, December 2, with opening serve set for 8 p.m. MT. The first round games will be hosted at Stanford, Calif., with Boise State vs. Western Kentucky as the other matchup.
The Pioneers won their third-straight Summit League Regular-Season and Tournament titles in the 2016 campaign, defeating South Dakota in four sets in the championship bout on Nov. 20 behind a dominant defensive look that limited the Coyotes to a .076 clip in a match that featured 17.5 Denver blocks.
First round begins later in the week as DU travels to California in search of its first NCAA Tournament win. Should the Pioneers advance, they would face the winner of Boise State/Western Kentucky on Saturday, Dec. 3, at 8 p.m. MT.
