Brookings, S.D. - The 48th-ranked University of Denver men's tennis team beat South Dakota State 6-1 today for their second consecutive victory against a Summit League opponent. The Pioneers improved to 13-7 overall on the season.
DU went 5-1 in singles play and 2-0 in doubles matches.
DU received singles victories from Henry Craig (Murietta, Calif.), Diogo Rocha (Lisbon, Portgual), David Fox (Surrey, United Kingdom), Yannik James (St. Georges, Grenada) and Alex Gasson (Alton, United Kingdom).
The Pioneers earned two points in their doubles matches with victories from Craig/Gasson and Rocha/ Zach Fryer (Centennial, Colo.). The match with the pair of James and Jesse Ruder-Hook (Denver, Colo.) versus Jonny Higham and Marco Paulo Castro (SDSU) went unfinished.
Denver will host Oral Roberts on Friday, April 8 at 1:00 p.m. MT. The match will take place at Stapleton Tennis Pavilions on the DU Campus.
