Berkeley, Calif. - The University of Denver men's tennis team fell to the University of Mississippi 4-3 in a close NCAA first-round match between the Pioneers and the Rebels at the Hellman Tennis Complex, hosted by the University of California--Berkeley.

The Pioneers went 2-1 in doubles action today and 2-4 in their singles matches.

Denver received singles victories from David Fox (Chipstead, Surrey, United Kingdom) and Wyatt Lovera (Miami, Fla.). Fox defeated Fabian Fallert (Ole Miss) 6-3, 7-6 (4) in the No. 4 singles spot, while Lovera beat Zvonimir Babic (Ole Miss) 6-3, 6-2 in the No. 6 singles spot.

In doubles play, Henry Craig (Murrieta, Calif.) and Alex Gasson (Alton, United Kingdom) helped clinch the doubles point for the Pioneers with a 6-4 victory over Fabian Fallert and Grey Hamilton (Ole Miss) at No. 1 doubles. Yannik James (St. Georges, Grenada) and Jesse Ruder-Hook (Denver, Colo.) also won their doubles match with a 6-3 win over Gustav Hansson and Stefan Lindmark (Ole Miss) at No. 2 doubles.

The Pioneers finish the 2015-16 season with an 18-8 overall record and their third straight Summit League Championship title.
