Jack Weinberg - Class of 1980
Winner of the First Annual True Pioneer Award in 2013 for his years of support as well as his spearheading of the new scoreboard campaign.

Where are you now/What are you doing?:
I am living in the suburbs of Chicago but I still have a home in the Colorado mountains. I have sold my television post production companies, and am doing a lot of non-for-profit work as a board member for hospitals, youth sport organizations and other community foundations. I am coaching high school hockey having retired from volunteer coaching high school soccer for twenty years.

Last time you touched a soccer ball/Where?:
Last year's alumni game. Putting a bunch of stray balls back in play.

When's the last time you were back on campus?
Final NCAA game last year.

Highlight/favorite soccer memory from your time at DU:
Great memories of road trips with the team.

Favorite non-soccer memory from your time at DU:
Meeting my wife of 33 years in quantitative mathematics.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years?:
Coming back to watch the team compete for another national championship, then going skiing in Aspen with my grandchildren.

Biggest adjustment to life after graduation?:
Leaving Colorado and finding out how much fun working at something you like is.

What advice do you have for the current Pioneers about life after college?:
Learn how to learn while you are in college so that you can continue to grow on the outside and give back to the game that gave us so much!
