Jan. 5, 2017 KANSAS CITY, Kan. - University of Denver redshirt-senior midfielder Francesca Garzelloni (Parker, Colo.) has been named to the NSCAA All-Great Lakes Region Third Team, the NSCAA announced.
The three-time Summit League selection played in 76 career matches with the Crimson and Gold, starting 73 of them and seeing 6,218 minutes of action for head coach Jeff Hooker's side. In her five-year career, Garzelloni scored eight times from her defensive midfield position, including four game-winners.
In 2016, Garzelloni played and started all 19 matches, scoring twice in Denver's victory over Fort Wayne on October 28. Garzelloni also tallied assists in Denver's 3-1 upset over [RV] Arizona State and providing the helper on the game-winner in Denver's Summit League opener at Western Illinois on September 30.
