The DU men's tennis team wrapped up its appearance at the 2017 Texas Tamale Company Rice Invitational in Houston in winning fashion on Sunday, downing the UNLV Rebels by a score of 4-1 at the George R. Brown Tennis Center. Denver is now 7-9 on the season after going 2-1 this weekend.

Denver got off to a good start by winning the doubles point thanks to impressive victories from Team Gasson/James & Team Lovera/Fernandez Del Valle. The Pioneers then won three of the four completed singles matches to take the team victory.

After going 2-0 in singles play on Saturday, senior Pio Yannik James earned another win on Sunday, downing UNLV's Jakob Amilon in a dramatic three-set match to end the tournament with a perfect 3-0 record. Click HERE to view complete results from Sunday's match.
