Denver to Host Wyoming Saturday

Diving begins at 10:30 a.m., with swimming starting at 12 on Saturday

DENVER –  The University of Denver men's and women's swimming and diving programs will host Wyoming on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. MT at El Pomar Natatorium.

LAST TIME OUT – WOMEN'S DUAL-A-POOL-OOZA:
Denver's women finished 2-1 in the 2018 Dual-A-Pool-Ooza at El Pomar Natatorium, defeating FIU (130-94) and Tulane (118-87), but falling to Rice (107-95). Sophomore diver Zora Opalka (Bainbridge Island, Wash.) qualified for an NCAA Zone meet by surpassing the 3-meter NCAA Standard with a 284.25. Senior Lauren Moden (Parker, Colo.) earned Summit League Women's Swimmer of the Week honors with her eight event wins in the three dual meets.
 
LAST TIME OUT – MEN VS. AIR FORCE
On Thursday night in Colorado Springs, the Denver men's program opened its dual season with a 183-114 victory at Air Force. Denver got individual wins from seven different student-athletes, including first time victories from Hugo Sykes (Weston, Conn.), Anthony Nosack (Beaverton, Ore.), Alex Morgan (Dyer, Ind.) and David Mihalic (Ljubljana, Slovenia). The Pioneers had three swimmers win multiple events on Thursday. Sophomore Cameron Auchinachie (Binghamton, N.Y.) swept the two freestyle sprints, junior Colin Gilbert (Kamloops, B.C.) captured both freestyle distance races and junior Neil Wachtler (Waco, Texas) took both backstroke events. 
 
UP NEXT:
Both programs will head to Iowa City next week to battle Iowa and Michigan. The two-day dual meet will begin on Friday at 5 p.m. MT, before the three teams return to the water on Saturday at 9 a.m. MT.
