DENVER - The University of Denver Pioneers had ten student-athletes named to the National Collegiate Hockey Conference (NCHC) Academic All-Conference Team and four (4) student-athletes named NCHC Distinguished Scholar-Athletes, the NCHC announced on Wednesday.
To be eligible for the NCHC Academic All-Conference Team, a student-athlete must compile a grade-point average of 3.0 or higher while having completed at least one (1) academic year at his institution. Student-athletes who have accrued a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher are honored as NCHC Distinguished Scholar-Athletes, in addition to Academic All-Conference.

While freshmen are not currently eligible for the NCHC Academic All-Conference Team or Distinguished Scholar-Athlete recognition, freshmen who achieve a cumulative 3.0 GPA or higher at the conclusion of the 2017-18 academic year will be added to the Academic All-Conference Team during the offseason. Similarly, any freshmen who compile a 3.5 GPA or better will be named an NCHC Distinguished Scholar-Athlete.
The 2017-18 NCHC Senior Scholar-Athlete Award will be announced at the NCHC Awards Celebration on Thursday, March 15 in Saint Paul, Minn. on the eve of the NCHC Frozen Faceoff.

The University of Denver is holding an alumni giving challenge for the 2017-2018 season in an effort to increase student-athlete alumni participation in the Denver Athletics Annual Fund. The sport with the highest percentage of alumni
