Pioneer Movement| IWLCA Release | Denver Ticket Office
DENVER-- The Denver Pioneers (4-3) moved down one spot in the latest IWLCA Coaches Poll that was released on Monday morning to 23 after losing their lone game this past week.
Stony Brook maintained the top spot this week, once again earning all but one first-place vote and 622 points (Boston College received the other first-place vote). Several of DU's opponents also held its rankings from last week as well. BIG EAST opponent Florida (Pioneers play the Gators April 21) held its ranking of sixth with 501 points, Colorado (March 29) stayed at 15 with 282 points, and Stanford, who the Pioneers defeated in week one (12-9), remained 19th, earning 179 points. Virginia Tech moved up into 17th. Another BIG EAST team, Georgetown (April 4), also gained another spot in the poll and sits behind Denver in the 24th spot with a 5-2 record, making six teams that DU has played or will play that are ranked.
Denver continues BIG EAST play this weekend, traveling to Storrs, Conn., to play UConn on Saturday, March 24. The scheduled start time is 10 a.m. MT. The next home game for the Pioneers will be on Thursday, March 29 with a 7 p.m. start time.
The Pioneers were receiving votes in the latest Inside Lacrosse Cascade Media Poll.
