GRAND LAKE, Colo. – The University of Denver women's lacrosse program has been named a recipient of the 2018 Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches' Association Zag Sports Academic Honor, the IWLCA announced.
Denver was one of 339 schools across all divisions to earn the honor given to teams that posted a 3.0 grade point average or higher in 2017-18.
In addition, eight student-athletes were recognized for their individual academic achievement in 2017-18. Senior
Hanna Bocklet (Psychology/Communications and Marketing), junior
Julia Feiss (Journalism/Marketing), senior
Katherine Fischer (International Studies/Economics/Business Administration), junior
Kate Knott (Finance/Real Estate), junior
Kendra Lanuza (Marketing/Biological Sciences), junior
Caroline Lewis (Marketing/Business Analytics), senior
Katy Miele (Economics/Marketing) and junior
Nicki Wilkinson (Marketing/Psychology & Finance) earned the coaches' association's academic honor for maintaining a 3.5 cumulative grade point average or greater in 2017-18. Denver's eight student-athletes were part of the list of 462 student-athletes from 105 institutions.
