DENVER – Denver Pioneers Director of Hockey Operations
Joe Howe been hired to the coaching staff for an NCAA Division I college hockey program to be named later, Richard and Kitzia Goodman Head Coach
David Carle announced on Monday.
Howe served one season as director of hockey operations after having served two years as the Pioneers' volunteer assistant coach. While on staff, Howe helped the Pioneers to the 2017 National Championship, two (2) Frozen Four appearances, three (3) NCAA tournament appearances, a National Collegiate Hockey Conference (NCHC) Frozen Faceoff title and an NCHC regular-season title.
As a player, the Plymouth, Minn. native played four (4) seasons with the Colorado College Tigers, appearing in 119 games and posting a 54-50-10 record with a 2.97 goals against average and .905 save percentage. Howe was a three-time WCHA All-Academic Team honoree and a member of the WHCA Rookie Team during the 2009-2010 season.
Denver will begin a national search for a new director of hockey operations immediately.
