Women’s Basketball Announces 2018-19 Regular-Season Schedule

DENVER – University of Denver women's basketball head coach Jim Turgeon announced the schedule for the 2018-19 season on Thursday. The schedule includes 29 regular-season games including 15 home games and 14 on the road.

The Pioneer's Summit-League schedule consists of 16 games, eight of which are in the Mile High City. DU will face-off against opponents from eight different conferences during the non-conference schedule that include: A10 (1), Big Sky (2), Big Ten (1), Mountain West (3), Patriot League (1), Southern (1), Western Athletic (2).

The Pioneers open up the season with a home meeting against UMKC (Nov. 9) before hosting in-state opponent Air Force (Nov. 11) two days later.

DU travels to Northern Colorado (Nov. 16) prior to returning home for a four-game stretch. The Crimson and Gold will take on American (Nov. 19) and then will host the Denver Thanksgiving Classic (Nov. 23-24) while facing Lamar (Nov. 23) and St. Bonaventure (Nov. 24).

After a week-long break, Denver will end the home stand with a contest against Loyola Marymount (Dec. 1).

DU heads to the road for five of its final six non-conference games. The Pioneers open with at Wyoming (Dec. 4) before taking on Southern Utah (Dec. 8). Just three days later, the team will take on New Mexico State (Dec. 11) prior to a showdown with Big Ten foe Nebraska (Dec. 15).

Denver then returns home to host Samford (Dec. 19) before ending the non-conference schedule on the road at Colorado State (Dec. 21) in Fort Collins.

The Pioneers open Summit League play with a pair of away games at Omaha (Dec. 28) and Western Illinois (Dec. 30).

Denver plays four of its next five at home, starting with South Dakota (Jan. 3), and then followed by North Dakota (Jan. 5) before hitting the road to meet up with South Dakota State (Jan. 9). The Crimson and Gold will play host to North Dakota State (Jan. 17) and Oral Roberts (Jan. 20).

With nine conference games remaining in the regular season, the Pioneers will travel to Fort Wayne, Ind. for a showdown with Purdue Fort Wayne (Jan. 26) before welcoming South Dakota State (Jan. 31) to the Mile High City.

DU then returns to the road for two games against Oral Roberts (Feb. 6) and North Dakota State (Feb. 9).

Prior to the final road trip of the season, Denver will host Purdue Fort Wayne (Feb. 13). The Pioneers will travel to South Dakota (Feb. 21) and North Dakota (Feb. 23) to wrap up the away portion of the league schedule.

DU ends the regular season with a two-game stretch, starting with Western Illinois (Feb. 28) and finish the year with Omaha (Mar. 2).

The Summit League Tournament is up next, with quarterfinal play beginning on Mar. 9. The tournament will be held in Sioux Falls, S.D. at the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center.
