Box Score DENVER— The University of Denver women's volleyball team defeated Idaho State in straight sets to finish the Pioneer Showdown on Saturday night in Hamilton Gymnasium. The Crimson and Gold took down the Bengals with scores of 25-19, 25-20, and 25-20.Â
The Pioneers swept all three matches in the Pioneer Showdown this weekend, are now 8-1 for the season, and remain perfect in six matches in Hamilton.
Big Blocks from Willis:
Senior
Emma Willis tallied five of Denver's nine total blocks. Willis has seen action in 36 sets this season and she leads the Pioneers with 31 total blocks.

Savage Serves:
Sophomore
Lydia Bartalo tallied four service aces against the Bengals, three of which were in the first set. Bartalo leads the Pioneers in aces this season, having notched 14 in 36 sets. She entered the weekend 73rd for aces in the NCAA.

Other Key Athletes:
Katarina Marinkovic topped the DU leaderboard in tonight's match with 12 kills against ISU.
Becca Latham tallied nine kills,
Ellie Anderson racked up 23 assists, and
Olivia Novotny led the team with 13 digs.

DU tallied 46 kills, a .379 hitting percentage, seven aces, 34 digs, and nine blocks against the Bengals. After four weeks of competition, the Pioneers have totaled 484 kills in 1,122 attack attempts, 452 assists, 59 aces, and 466 digs.

What's Next for DU:
The Pioneers will host their final of three-consecutive home tournaments on Sept. 14-15. They'll face Navy at 6 p.m. Friday, Sept. 14 for Military Appreciation Night. On Saturday, Sept. 15, the Pioneers will compete against Maryland Eastern Shore at 11 a.m. and Samford at 7 p.m. for their fourth double-header this season. Friday night's match against Navy will be broadcast live on Altitude. Â
