ATLANTA – The University of Denver men's and women's swimming and diving teams earned six event wins in the first day of a two day dual against Georgia Tech at the McAuley Aquatic Center.

Denver's women opened with a first and third place finish in the women's 200 free relay, led by the performance of the quartet of
Lauren Moden, Aysia Leckie, Heidi Bradley and
Josie Valette, who combined for a time of 1:34.07. The win was the Denver women's fourth in the 200 free relay this season.
The DU men matched the 200 free relay output of the women, when
Cameron Auchinachie, Jackson Gainer, Adriel Sanes and
Hugo Sykes combined for a 1:20.65 to lead the 1
st/3
rd finish for the Pios. Friday's victory was the second in the 200 free relay for the Pio men.
Sammy Walker earned a second place finish for the Denver divers in the women's 3-meter on Friday with a score of 244.50.
Denver's men earned nine of the 19 points in the men's 200 IM thanks to the Pioneers earning spots 2-4 on Friday.
David Mihalic took second with a 1:52.53,
Patrick Groters finished third in 1:53.66 and
Anthony Nosack grabbed fourth in 1:53.68.
Colin Gilbert got Denver back in the win column with his victory in the 1000 free (9:23.42), his third of the season and his seventh distance race win overall.
Jesse Haraden clocked in at 9:27.68 to take third in the race.
The Pioneer women took three of the top five spots to win the 100 breast 12-7, led by the third victory of the season in the event for
Brandi Vu (1:03.44)
. Courtney Laird (1:05.47) and
Charlotte Simon (1:05.64) finished fourth and fifth.
Bradley picked up her second win of the campaign in the 200 back and her fifth backstroke event win overall on Friday, finishing the event in 2:00.01.
Denver's backed up its 200 free relay win from earlier in the meet with the 2-4 spots in the women's 100 free. Moden took second in 51.95,
Sarah Lingen finished third in 52.22 and Leckie reached the wall in fourth with a time of 52.86.
Denver's women capped off the opening day with their fourth victory of the afternoon as Bradley, Vu,
Kylie Cronin and Moden reached the wall first with a time of 3:44.26.
Neil Wachtler (200 Back/1:40.03), Auchinachie (100 Free/44.58) and Cronin (200 fly/2:02.77) all earned individual second place finishes on Friday.
