The Denver Pioneers women's tennis team opened the 2019 season with a 4-0 victory against the Oregon Ducks at the ITA Kick Off in Malibu, Calif.
Denver opened the match with the doubles point as Anna Riedmiler/
Tatum Burger defeated Paiton Wagner/Allison Mulville 6-1 at No. 2 and
Arisha Ladhani/
Toni Nelson defeated Daniela Nasser/Taryn Fujimori 6-1 at No. 3.
The Pioneers completed their sweep with a trio of singles victories as Anna Reidmiller defeated Wagner 6-2, 6-2 at No. 3,
Tatum Burger defeated Rifanty Kahfian 6-3, 6-4 at No. 4 and
Camille Verden-Anderson defeated Fujimori 6-0, 6-0 at No. 6. After both student-athletes dropped their first sets, No. 89 Mok was leading No. 81 Shweta Sangwan, 5-1, in the second set and No. 85 Ladhani was tied with No. 50 Nasser, 3-3, in the second set.
Denver will face No. 7 Pepperdine at 2 p.m. MT.
