DENVER – The University of Denver women's basketball team garnered a pair of double-double performances from senior forward
Madison Nelson and freshman forward
Uju Ezeudu on its way to a 93-74 blowout of Fort Lewis College on Thursday inside Hamilton Gymnasium.
After jumping out to a two-point lead with 7:09 remaining in the first quarter, the Pioneers never looked back. Junior forward
Jasmine Jeffcoat led a fast-break off a steal midway through the first that led to an Ezeudu basket and a 15-6 lead. Ezeudu opened the game shooting 4-of-4 from the field off the bench.
Denver kept its foot on the gas in the second quarter, outscoring the Skyhawks 24-13 behind eight points from
Lauren Loven. The Crimson and Gold took a 24-point lead into halftime.
Fort Lewis made a push in the second half, outscoring Denver, 45-40 in the half.
Ezeudu used her spark off the bench to post a game-high 19 points to go along with 10 boards. The Reynoldsburg, Ohio native stuffed her stat sheet adding two blocks, three steals and an assist in 17 minutes of action.
Nelson added her own double-double with 17 points and a game-high 12 rebounds. Three other Pioneers – Loven,
Briana Johnson, and
Meghan Boyd – scored in double figures. Loven tallied 11, while Johnson had 14 and Boyd had 13.

The Pioneers host Colorado Mesa at 1 p.m. (MT) on Nov. 2 in Hamilton Gymnasium for their second exhibition game.
