HOUSTON, TEXAS: The No. 45 University of Denver women's tennis team defeated Minnesota 6-1 on Saturday morning to snap a two-match losing streak. DU kicked off the match by securing the doubles point and then the Pios would go on to win five-of-six singles matches.

The Pioneers got the team point thanks to a 6-2 win from Bianca Mok/Camille Verden-Anderson over Cammy Frei/Caitlyn Merzbacher and another win from Tatum Burger/Anna Riedmiller, who defeated Tina Kreinis/Tiffany Huber 6-2 to clinch the point.

DU went on to win five-of-six singles matches including four matches in straight-sets. No. 91 Bianca Mok defeated Tina Kreinis 7-5, 6-2 at No. 1, No. 114 Arisha Ladhani defeated Bita Mancera 6-3, 6-2 at No. 3, Tatum Burger defeated Cammy Frei 7-5, 6-1 at No. 4 and Camille Verden-Anderson beat Caitlyn Merzbacher 6-2, 6-4 at No. 5.

Despite falling in the first set, Anna Riedmiller fought back to win 4-6, 6-1, 6-1 at the No. 2 position to wrap up the win for DU.

The Pioneers will return to the court on Friday, March 8 when they host Oral Roberts in their first Summit League match of 2019.
