The Denver Pioneers women's tennis team (15-5, 5-0) swept South Dakota 7-0 to claim their sixth straight Summit League regular season title on Friday at the Denver Tennis Park.
Seniors
Bianca Mok and
Arisha Ladhani, as well as graduating junior
Hannah Templeton, all contributed the Pioneers' victory on Senior Day. Each student-athlete was honored after the match.
Denver started the day with the doubles point as Templeton/
Toni Nelson recorded a 6-2 victory at No. 2 and Ladhani/ Mok won by the same score at No. 3.
The Pioneers dominated on the singles courts with each student-athlete winning in straight sets. No. 109 Mok registered the first victory, winning 6-1, 6-1, then Ladhani followed with a 6-0, 6-2 win at No. 4.
Hada Chang clinched the match with a convincing 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 6. Camille-Verden Anderson,
Anna Riedmiller and
Tatum Burger capped the sweep with victories at No. 5, 2 and 4, respectively.
Denver looks ahead to the Summit League tournament to be played from April 26-27 in Tulsa, Okla.
