[18/17] Denver Opens Strong 2019 Slate at [RV/28] Washington Friday

The Pioneers and Huskies will kickoff the 2019 campaign Friday at 8:30 p.m. MT

THE PAST, PRESENT AND FUTURE
•    Denver earned its third bye in the NCAA Tournament in the last four seasons, but the Pioneers fell two goals behind, pulled one back and couldn't find the equalizer in a 2-1 loss to Air Force last November.
• Denver went 1-1-0 in its exhibitions this fall, falling 1-0 to Air Force before defeating Gonzaga 2-0.
• The Pioneers will open the 2019 regular season with a familiar foe, taking on Washington for the second-straight August. Denver defeated the Huskies in extra time at the University of Denver Soccer Stadium, two years after beating Washington in the NCAA Round of 16.
• Denver will continue a season-opening stretch of six-straight away from home when it heads to Seattle on Monday. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. MT/6 p.m. PT. The Pioneers will close out the road swing with a weekend in South Bend against Indiana and Notre Dame (Sept. 6/8) and a weekend back out west at Stanford (Sept. 13) and Cal (Sept. 15).

•    According to information submitted to the NCAA in 2015, Franks was the youngest DI head coach (29) four seasons ago, and was the second youngest in 2016.
