Sparks, Md. — Denver Pioneers women's lacrosse senior defender Molly Little was among 50 players invited to an official tryout for the U.S. team that will represent the country in the 2021 World Lacrosse Women's World Championship, US Lacrosse announced on Monday.
 
The World Championship is set for July 7-17 at Towson University in Towson, Md. The U.S. team tryouts will be held at the US Lacrosse headquarters in Sparks, Md. From Dec. 4-6, 2020.
 
Little has 39 points, 55 ground balls, 46 caused turnovers, and 159 draw controls in 47 games for the Pioneers. In 2019, the All-BIG EAST First Team honoree and Tiverton, R.I. native helped guide Denver through its NCAA quarterfinal run with the second-most caused turnovers (28) and draw controls (62) on the squad. She was on the Tewaaraton Watch List for the 2020 season where she had a team-leading 37 draw controls through the eight games.

The United States has won the last three World Lacrosse championships (2009, 2013 and 2017). 2021 will mark the first year the World Championship is hosted U.S. soil since 2005 and is also expected to feature a record-setting 30 teams.
 
Pioneers assistant coach Brittany Read was recently named to England's training squad for the 2021 World Championship.
