Last Time Out
Denver fell 4-1 to No. 3 Minnesota Duluth on Saturday, Dec. 12 with Jesse Jacques' goal 1:32 into the third period kick-starting a tough final frame for the Pioneers. Shortly after going down 3-1, Denver went on a five-on-three penalty kill for 2:37 where the Bulldogs proceeded to score again and seal victory. 

Series History
Denver leads the all-time series 18-10-1, splitting last season's series 1-1-0. Denver is 5-5-0 in its last 10 games against the Broncos.

Last Meeting
The Pioneers played a two-game series against Western Michigan last season, falling 2-1 on Nov. 22 and winning 6-1 on Nov. 23 in Magness Arena. Bobby Brink had two goals and three assists in the series, while Jaakko Heikkinen had two goals and two assists. Denver was 3/9 on the power play during the weekend. 

What's Next
The Pioneers will continue a stretch of four games in six days as they take on Miami on Thursday, Dec. 17 at 6:35 p.m. MT. The game will be broadcast on Altitude and ESPN Denver 1600.

  • Carter Savoie was named NCHC Co-Rookie of the Week with Riese Gaber (North Dakota) for the week of Dec. 7-13. He had two goals, one assist, nine shots and a +1 rating in three games

  • Denver has led in every game this season. In their 0-3-0 start to the year, the Pioneers led Minnesota Duluth 1-0 until 13:04 of the third period, North Dakota 2-1 until 13:03 of the third period and St. Cloud State 2-1 until 4:23 of the second period
  • Bobby Brink has joined the U.S. national team roster for the IIHF World Junior Championship to be played in Red Deer, Alberta from Dec. 25 - Jan. 5
