DU Set to Compete in Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate

Round one set for Friday
DENVER – The University of Denver men's golf team looks to continue its spring season with the Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate on Friday. The 54-hole event will take place Classic Club in Palm Desert, Calif.
Par for the 7,305-yard course is 72.
The 21-team field features a variety of teams from all over, including No. 5 Colorado State, No. 19 Auburn, Colorado and host Wyoming.
Head coach Erik Billinger is going with the lineup of Cal McCoy, Carson Griggs, Jun Ho Won, John Sand and Connor Jones.
Griggs is coming off a strong showing at the Mobile Sports Authority Intercollegiate back on Feb. 11, finishing at 2-under. The Sand Springs, Okla. native was rewarded for his play, earning his first Summit League Golfer of the Week honor.
Sand has had success at this tournament before, finishing 20th last year with a total over 4-over.
