[10/11] Pios Gear Up For Pair of Weekend Home Games

DENVER- The [10/11] University of Denver women's lacrosse team is set to host Oregon on Friday (12 PM MT) and Harvard on Sunday (10 AM MT) in a pair of weekend home games at Peter Barton Lacrosse Stadium. Denver is entering the weekend sitting at 2-0 following a strong start to its 2020 campaign.

SCOUTING OREGON

The Ducks are entering Friday with a 1-2 record, their one win coming against Liberty in their season opener. The Oregon offense scored 20 goals in the contest and racked up 29 points
Shonly Wallace leads the UO offense with eleven goals while Jamie Level has a team-high six assists
Wallace was named the PAC-12 Offensive Player of the Week after recording seven points on five goals in the Ducks victory over Liberty
The defense is led by goalkeeper Alle Dunbar who has recorded 19 saves, spending all three games in goal for the Ducks
Oregon was picked to finish sixth in the PAC-12 Preseason Poll after finishing 1-9 in conference play in 2019

SCOUTING HARVARD

Harvard will enter Sunday's game following a Friday night matchup with No. 18 Colorado
The Crimson holds a 1-0 record following a strong season opening 15-3 victory over Niagara
Harvard returned three of its top five scorers from a year ago including Grace Huslander who scored four goals in their season opener along with Tessa Queri
Grace Rotondo spent the majority of the game in goal for the Crimson recording three saves and allowing just two goals in 55 minutes of play
Tate Green and Shea Jenkins topped the Crimson defense each forcing two Niagara turnovers in their season opener
Harvard was picked to finish sixth in the Ivy League Preseason Poll, after going just 1-6 in conference play last season

2019 RECORD BREAKERS

The Pioneers will look to build on their record breaking 2019 season after reaching their first-ever NCAA quarterfinal in program history
The Pioneers fell to the eventual National Champion, Maryland Terrapins 17-8 to end their season
Denver placed five on the West/Midwest All-Region team, the most in program history
The Pioneers lost 10 seniors, including All-America selection and BIG EAST Defender of the Year, Kate Fischer

RETURNERS

Denver returns 24 players, while adding eleven freshmen to their squad
Notable returners are BIG EAST Attacker of the Year and All-America selection, Quintin Hoch-Bullen, and BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Year, Carson Gregg
Eliza Radochonski, Hannah Liddy and Molly Little all received BIG EAST honors

Molly Little and Quintin Hoch-Bullen were both named to the Inside Lacrosse Preseason All-America list for the first time in their careers
Quintin Hoch-Bullen was named BIG EAST Preseason Offensive Player of the Year while Molly Little, Carson Gregg, Hannah Liddy and Eliza Radochonski all received Preseason BIG EAST All-Conference honors

The Pioneers are a combined 20-4 at home the past two seasons and 1-0 in their 2020 campaign
DU is 6-1 against Oregon and 1-0 over Harvard on their home turf

PIONEERS IN THE POLLS

After being ranked No. 9 following their season opener on Feb. 8^th the Pioneers dropped to 11^th in the Inside Lacrosse Media Poll following their victory at Louisville
Denver remains at No. 10 in the IWLCA coaches poll
DU was tabbed for a first-place finish in the BIG EAST following a vote of its six head coaches

SMOOTH START

The Pioneers opened their 2020 campaign with a 17-13 victory over then No. 20/RV Stanford
Denver overpowered Louisville in their first road game of the season with a 15-6 victory while outshooting the Cardinals 34-21 in the win

FIRST HALF TEAM

Denver came out strong in the first frame of their 17-13 victory over Stanford, using a 6-1 run to jump out to a 12-5 lead in the opening 30 minutes of play
The Pioneers scored seven times in the first half at Louisville with Bea Behrins scoring four of those goals before the break

FRESHMEN STANDOUTS

Ellie Curry and Julia Gilbert scored their first collegiate goals in Denver's win over Stanford
Curry added two more in the Pioneers victory over Louisville also adding three ground balls and one caused turnover
Sam Thacker ranks second on the team in caused turnovers (5) and ground balls (7)

TRICKS ON TRICKS

Quintin Hoch-Bullen, Hannah Liddy and Bea Behrins have all recorded hat tricks for the Pioneers so far this season
Quintin Hoch-Bullen led Denver with five goals against Stanford on Feb. 8^th and added a hat trick at Louisville on Feb. 15^th, scoring all three goals in the second half
Bea Behrins led the Pios with six goals in the Pioneers victory at Louisville on Feb. 15^th, locking in the first sock trick of the season and the first of her career

ASSIST QUEEN

Hannah Liddy leads the Pioneers in assists with nine on the season, six of those coming at Louisville on Feb. 15^th
Hannah Liddy and Bea Behrins linked up for three goals in the Pioneers victory at Louisville on Feb. 15^th
With the addition of four goals, the junior has a team-high 13 points through 120 minutes of play

CAREER HIGHS

Eliza Hacke recorded a career high of four caused turnovers and one draw control in the Pioneer win on Feb. 8th vs Stanford. The Defenseman also added two ground balls
Caroline Wiseman snatched three career highs on Feb. 8th vs. Stanford, recording four points stemming from two goals and two assists
Bea Behrins recorded a career high six goals on Feb. 15^th
Kailee Lammers recorded a career-high and team-high five ground balls at Louisville on Feb. 15^th
