"Even though our season was unfortunately cut short, as student-athletes we were still able to do something of meaning this April," Logan said. "I chose to run in the Last Shift 2020 virtual 5K to support cancer patients across the country who may be at risk during this time. Events like this are a great way for us to make use of the extra time we have been afforded and make a difference in our communities."
With an initial goal of $85,000 set, the Last Shift Virtual 5k that was organized by Stony Brook women's lacrosse player Ally Kennedy, Penn State men's player Grant Ament and Princeton's Michael Sowers, raised over $121,000 to improve lives affected by cancer.
"With 11 of our players participating in the Last Shift 5k, 49 getting haircuts for the Boston Children's Hospital earlier this season and hundreds of hours put into various other community service projects, this year, I'm so proud to be affiliated with such a talented, yet selfless group of young men," head coach
Bill Tierney said.
