Logan Led Group of Pioneers in Last Shift Virtual 5K

Senior SSDM Danny Logan led a group of 13 Pioneer players and parents in a fundraiser in April

DENVER – University of Denver men's lacrosse senior SSDM Danny Logan (Upper Arlington, Ohio) led a group of 13 student-athletes and parents in participating in the Last Shift 2020 virtual 5K in April.

Logan's teammates Alec Barnes (Highlands Ranch, Colo.), Oliver Dina (Austin, Texas), Kyle Smith (New Canaan, Conn.), Colin Squires (West Linn, Ore.), Kaleb Stroman (Parker, Colo.), Mikey Pryor (Denver, Colo.), Jack DiBenedetto (Buffalo, N.Y.) Zach Hutchko (Charlotte, N.C.), Nate Williams (Potomac, Md.) and Ethan Walker (Peterborough, Ontario) also participated in the event.

"Even though our season was unfortunately cut short, as student-athletes we were still able to do something of meaning this April," Logan said. "I chose to run in the Last Shift 2020 virtual 5K to support cancer patients across the country who may be at risk during this time. Events like this are a great way for us to make use of the extra time we have been afforded and make a difference in our communities."

With an initial goal of $85,000 set, the Last Shift Virtual 5k that was organized by Stony Brook women's lacrosse player Ally Kennedy, Penn State men's player Grant Ament and Princeton's Michael Sowers, raised over $121,000 to improve lives affected by cancer.

"With 11 of our players participating in the Last Shift 5k, 49 getting haircuts for the Boston Children's Hospital earlier this season and hundreds of hours put into various other community service projects, this year, I'm so proud to be affiliated with such a talented, yet selfless group of young men," head coach Bill Tierney said.
