DENVER – The University of Denver men's lacrosse program, presented by
Your Hometown Toyota Stores had three players selected in the 2020 National Lacrosse League Entry Draft on Thursday night. Thursday's draft was
held virtually.
Attackman
Ethan Walker (Peterborough, Ontario) was taken 10
th overall by Georgia, becoming the 11th first round pick in the program's history. Short stick defensive midfielder and fellow captain
Danny Logan (Upper Arlington, Ohio) was taken 50
th overall (third round) by San Diego, where former Pioneers
Wesley Berg and
Jeremy Noble already play on the west coast. Finally, in the fifth round,
Jackson Morrill (Baltimore, Md.) was taken at No. 72 overall by Calgary. Former Pioneer
Tyler Pace scored 14 goals and had 10 assists in seven games in a Roughnecks uniform in 2020.
The Denver trio brings the total number of DU players drafted to 27 since 2001 (full list below).
In his previous three and a half seasons with the Pioneers, Walker tallied 219 points on 142 goals and 77 assists. The three-time USILA All-America selection is currently third in program history in points, 36 behind former NLL First Round selection and 2015 NCAA Tournament Most Outstanding Player
Wesley Berg. The Ontario native is also 46 goals behind Berg in career goals and five assists behind 2012 draft selection
Alex Demopoulos for the career assists record. In a pandemic shortened 2020 season, Walker had 15 goals and 10 assists in the Pioneers six games, including four goals and two assists in Denver's 14-11 win over Western Rival Notre Dame to end the campaign.
In 55 career games, Logan has 16 goals and 12 assists for 28 points, picking up 140 ground balls and forcing 34 turnovers, including a career-high 16 in his 2019 campaign. In a pandemic shortened 2020 season, Logan picked up 15 ground balls and forced seven turnovers in six games. On the offensive end, Logan scored a goal and three assists.
Morrill has 220 points and 113 goals to his name in his collegiate career, including 15 points on seven goals and eight assists in just four games of a pandemic-shortened 2020 season. In 2019, Morrill had 46 goals and 48 assists equaling 94 points. Morrill had seven hat tricks for Yale in 2019, including three in NCAA Tournament games against Georgetown (3g-2a), Penn (4-3) and Penn State (3-2).

For the 2020 NLL Entry Draft, all NCAA players who have exhausted four seasons of eligibility and may return to play a fifth NCAA season were eligible to be selected.
