DENVER – Following the program's first extra time win since 2018, the University of Denver men's soccer program will welcome Pac-12 foe Stanford to the University of Denver Soccer Stadium Saturday at 4 p.m. MT.

Jack and Sheila Weinberg Head Men's Soccer Coach Jamie Franks:
Jamie Franks is in his seventh season as the bench boss for the Pioneers and his 10th on the Denver campus overall. The head coach of the 2016 National Coaching Staff of the Year has put together a 81-28-14 record and has led Denver to all but two of the league trophies available (2019 regular season and 2017 postseason) since Denver joined the Summit League in 2013.
Series History: Denver vs. Stanford:
The Pioneers are 0-5-0 all-time against Stanford, including 0-1 in Denver in a 1999 match that finished 5-2. In the two most recent meetings in Palo Alto, the Pioneers lost 1-0 in extra time in 2018 and 2-0 in 2019.
Last Time Out:
Virginia scored on its only shot on goal in the first 80 minutes to take a 1-0 lead in the first half, but the Pioneers got an equalizer from Kengo Ohira in the 80th minute and an extra time winner from Destan Norman in the 95th to take the Pioneers past the Cavaliers on Monday night at Klockner Stadium. Liam Johnson made a save-saving diving header in the 87th minute to keep the match level and take it to extra time.
Notes:
- Two-time captain Liam Johnson was named to the MAC Hermann Trophy Watch List.
- Denver's freshman class was ranked the seventh-best recruiting class in the country according to Top Drawer Soccer.
- Denver is 73-8-6 at home since Jamie Franks joined the staff in 2012.
- The Pioneers are 39-6-5 in Summit League play since joining the league in 2013.
- On Monday, Stefan DeLeone was named the Summit League Offensive Player of the Week after scoring a goal and adding two assists in Denver's 3-1 win over St. Thomas last Saturday.
- Jamie Franks was unable to make the trip to Virginia on Monday due to an injury suffered in training last Friday that left him unable to travel.

Following a 3-0-0 start to Summit League play and a pair of power-5 non-conference games in-between, the Pioneers will jump back into conference play for the rest of the regular season when they head to Oral Roberts on Saturday at 6 p.m. MT.
