PARKER – The University of Denver men's golf team opened up its home tournament in style on Monday, taking the lead through 18 holes at the Paintbrush Invitational. The Pioneers posted a 2-over 290 in the morning round before play was suspended due to darkness in the late afternoon.

John Sand had a good start to the tournament, tying for fourth after one round at 2-under.

Brady Arnett made an impact, tying for seventh after posting a 72 on the morning round.

Carson Griggs tied for 12th with a 1-over 73 performance on the first round.

Jun Ho Won tied for 5-over.

Esteban Missura, competing as an individual, tied for 21st with a 74.
