DENVER – University of Denver women's golf head coach Martha Richards announced the addition of Annie Collom to her coaching staff on Monday. Collom will begin her duties with the Pioneers immediately.  

Collom comes to the Pioneers after spending the past two seasons at Denison as the assistant coach for the men's and women's golf teams.

"I am incredibly excited to begin my time at the University of Denver," Collom said. "Working with the women's team alongside Coach Richards will be an honor. They are a talented group with unlimited potential. I can't wait to assist the program in reaching new heights."

Prior to that, Collom enjoyed a successful four-year playing career at the University of Richmond from 2015-19.

In 2021, both the men and women's golf programs won the NCAC Championship and earned trips to the NCAA Tournament. She coached the NCAC Player of the Year in Megan Wong. She also coached four male golfers to All-American honors and two women golfers to All-Region accolades. 

During her time with the Spiders, Collom was named to the All-Patriot League second-team during all four seasons and ended her career with the sixth-lowest scoring average in program history (77.85), including the program's second-lowest single-season scoring average (75.07) during the 2018-19 campaign. She also tallied 12, top-10 finishes during her career and became the first player in school history to shoot five-under par in a single round (67 vs. Columbia on Oct. 14, 2018).

Helping lead the Spiders to three-straight Patriot League Conference Championships from 2016-18, Collom qualified for the NCAA Division I Women's Golf Regionals in each of those three seasons while also being named to the Patriot League All-Academic team in 2018. Collom graduated from Richmond in 2019 with a bachelor's degree in philosophy, politics, economics, and law, while also minoring in healthcare studies.

Denver returns to action in January to begin the spring portion of its schedule.
