First Quarter:
After struggling out of the gate against Utah in the season opener last week, Denver jumped on top early against the top-ranked team in the country on Saturday. After Brennan O'Neill got Duke on the board, Denver responded with the next six goals, five of which came in the remaining 12:29 in the first quarter.

Sillstrop got the scoring started before Walker and Morrill quickly completed goals for each of Denver's attackmen. Sillstrop and Morrill each picked up their second goals of the game to close out the quarter.

Second Quarter:
The two teams split the scoring in the second quarter with three goals apiece. Drew Erickson scored on the man-up and Lucas Cotler made it two straight Denver tallies for the offensive midfield.

Morrill answered a Duke goal to make it 8-3, but it was Duke that netted the final goal of the half to cut the Pioneers lead to four at the intermission.

Second Half:
Cotler got Denver started in the second half to push the lead back to five at 9-4, but it was the Blue Devils that ended the game on an 8-1 run with a pair of 4-0 runs surrounding Walker's second of the day.

Significant Stats:
  • Walker's two goals moved him into a tie with Connor Cannizzaro for second on Denver's all-time list in points and in sole possession of third on Denver's list in goals.
