LAST TIME OUT:
Brown recorded two perfect 10.0s in the NCAA Regional Final in Athens, Ga., and nearly led DU to a team berth at the NCAA National Championships. She secured her individual all-around qualification in the NCAA Regional Second Round after scoring a 39.725, the top score by a gymnast from a non-advancing team in the Athens Regional.
In the NCAA Regional Final, she led the final individual standings in the all-around (39.750) and on both bars and floor with her perfect 10.0s.
QUICK HITS:
This is the second year of the current NCAA regional and national format, which debuted in 2019. All individual national titles will be awarded based on Friday's competition. Results from both semifinal sessions will be combined to determine the individual national champions. Postseason All-American honors will also be awarded following the completion of each semifinal meet.
Brown will compete in Semifinal I at 11 a.m. MT and will rotate with the University of Florida, competing after the final UF gymnast on each event. Brown and the Gators will begin on bars.
SCOUTING THE FIELD:
Brown is ranked as one of the top gymnasts in the country, coming in tied for No. 2 in the all-around, No. 2 on bars and No. 3 on floor. Among her competition for the all-around title is No. 1-ranked Trinity Thomas (Florida) and fellow AAI Award finalist Lexy Ramler (Minnesota), who shares the No. 2 ranking with Brown. Luisa Blanco (Alabama) and Anastasia Webb (Oklahoma) round out the top five.
Webb and teammate Evy Schoepfer are the top-ranked vaulters in the country. Brown is tied for No. 12 with a season high score of 9.975, achieved at the NCAA Regional Second Round.
Thomas, Brown and Ramler are the nation's top three bars workers. Brown and Thomas each have two perfect 10.0s on the event this year, and Ramler has a season high of 9.975.
Ramler and Utah's Maile O'Keefe share the top national beam ranking, each with perfect 10.0s this year. Brown owns a 9.950 season and career high, and is tied for No. 21 nationally.
Brown's No. 3 ranking on floor came prior to her perfect 10.0 in the NCAA Regional Final. Only LSU's Kiya Johnson and Florida's Thomas are ranked higher.

- Brown returns to Fort Worth as a defending NCAA national champion on floor. In 2019, she won the second Division I national title in Denver history with her 9.950 performance on floor and helped lead DU to a historic fourth-place team finish.
- This is Brown's third trip to the NCAA National Championships and her second as an individual all-around qualifier after doing so in 2018 as a freshman.
- After scoring a perfect 10.0 on both bars and floor in the NCAA Regional Final, Brown became the DU record holder for most career perfect 10.0s with four. She is the third Denver gymnast to earn multiple perfect scores in a single meet and only the second gymnast in the country to do so in 2021.
- The DU senior has won at least one individual title in every meet in 2021. In total, she has captured 30 titles this season including nine on bars and eight each in the all-around and on floor.
- Brown returned to competition this year after a season-ending injury in February 2020. She has set or tied career highs on all four events and in the all-around, and her season-high 39.825 is a new program record.
