Get to Know You: Jordan Johnson
Sophomore guard
Jordan Johnson is joining the Denver men's basketball team in 2021-22 following his high school career at Hamilton High School and a year at Hinds CC. A year ago, the Memphis, Tenn., native averaged 30.1 minutes, 11.7 points, 3.0 rebounds, 4.4 assists and 1.9 steals per game.

Q&A with Johnson
Why DU?
It was the best fit for me. The play style and pace all matched what I'm good at. The coaching staff were great to me from the start. I knew coming here was going to be a change in what I'm accustomed to, but my teammates and coaches have made it so easy to adjust to the environment.
What made you fall in love with the game of basketball?
Every time i would pick up a basketball or even watch it i felt way happier.
When did you know you could play at the Division I level?
I would say around my 10th or 11th grade year when I would play big time players and held my own, I knew I had the chance to.

What is your favorite basketball moment?
My favorite basketball moment was hitting a game winner in the eybl league against Chris Paul's AAU team.
Have any of your family members played collegiate or professional sports and what team/position did they play?
My father played Division I basketball at the University of Memphis.

Growing up playing basketball, who had the most influence on the development of your game?
I would have to say my father and just me always wanting to improve or get better in a certain area to help my overall skill set.
