DENVER – The University of Denver men's and women's swimming and diving programs held their first meet of the season with individual events, welcoming [RV] LSU and Air Force to El Pomar Natatorium on Saturday.
Denver's men and women both defeated Air Force comfortably on Saturday while LSU defeated both the Falcons and Pioneers.

Diving Highlights:
Kaelyn Hinesley earned an NCAA Zone qualifying standard on the 1-meter to open the diving portion of the meet, scoring a 270.05. Hinesley took fifth in the event behind four LSU divers.
Jon Brouillette led the Denver men in the 3-meter dive with a 279.19. In the men's 1-meter a couple hours later,
Nathan Cox got on the podium with a third-place finish, scoring 291.40.
Swimming Highlights:
Denver's women opened the meet with a second-place finish in the women's 200 medley relay.
Ali Beay,
Sophia Bricker,
Mia Moulden and
Erika Remington combined for a 1:44.04.
Nika Spehar highlighted the women's 1000 free in the first individual distance race of the season for the Pioneers. The Denver freshman reached the final wall in 10:35.61.
On the men's side,
Riley Babson began his individual senior season with a 9:45.52 in the men's 1000 free.
Kieran Watson also got on the podium with his time of 9:52.65.
Denver's first event win of the afternoon came in the women's 100 breast.
Jessica Maeda clocked in at 1:03.10 to take the victory while
Sophia Bricker reached the wall in second with a 1:04.75.
Sophia Remington finished fourth in 1:05.68 to rack up 15 points for the Pios.
Alex Lynch got on the Denver men back on the podium with a third-place finish in the men's 100 breast, reaching the final wall in 57.67.
Dan Kunin finished second in the men's 200 fly with a 1:52.27 to pick up four more points for the Denver men.
In the first 50 free of the campaign,
Erika Remington clocked in at 23.71 to take second and score four points for the Denver women. On the men's side,
Frank Tirone clocked in at 20.78 to take the last spot on the podium.
Dylan Wright gave the Denver men its first individual victory of the season with a 1:50.41 in the 200 back.
Maeda got the Denver women back in the win column with a 2:16.36 in the 200 breast. Bricker also scored a podium spot again with a 2:23.30 to take fourth.
Lynch got back on the podium in the men's 200 breast, taking third with a 2:05.99.
Joseph Purdy and
Marco Nosack took fourth and fifth with times of 2:06.16 and 2:06.77, respectively.
Daniela Alfaro reached the wall in third in the women's 500 free with a time of 5:10.22.
In the men's 100 fly, Kunin clocked in at 49.60 to take third.
