SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – University of Denver men's soccer junior defensive midfielder and captain Ben Smith has been named the TicketSmarter Men's Soccer Defensive Peak Performer of the Week, the league office announced on Monday.
Smith sat in-front of a Denver defense that surrendered just one shot on target in a 1-0 win against Summit League rivals Omaha on Saturday afternoon. The Denver captain also curled in a 68th-minute goal from inside the D, his first goal of the season and the second of his career.
