Denver Women’s Lacrosse Signs Seven For 2024 Season

DENVER – The Denver Pioneers women's lacrosse team has signed seven student-athletes to National Letters of Intent for the 2024 season.
 
The class includes Alexandra Dorr (Davie, Fla.), Lauren Hall (Menlo Park, Calif.), Caroline Keil (Lake Forest, Ill.), Kiki Norton (Bloomfield Hills, Mich.), Kyra Obert (Stevensville, Md.), Dakota Riggio (Delray Beach, Fla.) and Olivia Ripple (Ross, Calif.).
 
"This recruiting class will help take the DU women's lacrosse program to the next level," says head coach Liza Kelly. "They are stars on the field and in the classroom, and we expect this group to come in and have an immediate impact."
 
 
Alexandra Dorr | Midfield | American Heritage Boca-Delray
5-7 | Davie, Florida | Born April 13, 2005
 
Before Denver: Won 116 draws during her junior season in 2022 and broke the school record for the most draws controls in a game (13) … Plays club with Florida Select '23 … Is a teammate at American Heritage and Florida Select with fellow Denver commit Dakota Riggio … Earned the All-Hustle Award in 2021 and 2022 … Named to the 2021 and 2022 All-Region and All-District Teams and was recognized as a 2021 Sun Sentinel Honorable Mention … Won a state championship in 2021 … Named a 2022 All-American.
 
Personal: Daughter of Will Dorr and Jill Barton … Has a younger brother, William … Father played rugby at The Citadel … Intends to enroll in business at DU … Career goals include working in a major corporation in the human resources or marketing departments … Hobbies are horseback riding, running, baking and participating in student government at her high school … Also participated in Inter Club Council … Community service involvement includes volunteering at trunk or treat, community food drives, escorting Santa, being a counselor at lacrosse camps and serving as an athletic trainer assistant … Recipient of the 2021 Geometry and Sociology Recognition of Excellence Awards and 2022 Chemistry Recognition of Excellence.

Before Denver: Played for the Sacred Heart Prep Atherton Gators and club with Verve Lacrosse … Adrenaline All American 2023 National Watchlist … Participated in 2022 USA National Development Team Combine … Helped her team win the Central Coast Section High School Championship in 2021 … Earned 2021 Nike American Select West Team honors … Maryland Lacrosse Showcase and Pride National Team Invitee … Alternate on Team USA's U-15 squad in 2019 … 2018 Bay Area Bonanza Tournament MVP.
 
Personal: Daughter of Sherman and Donna Hall … Has an older brother, Quinten … Wants to start her own clothing brand in the future and work in sports video and media advertising … Enjoys hiking and skateboarding … Volunteers with Boys and Girls Club.

Caroline Keil | Attack | Lake Forest High School
5-7 | Lake Forest, Illinois | Born Nov. 11, 2004
 
Before Denver: Played varsity lacrosse for the Lake Forest High School Scouts all four years and plays club with Team One … Registered 110 goals and 28 assists during her junior campaign in 2022 and helped her team to a third-place finish at state … Named First-Team All-State in 2022 and earned Second-Team All-State honors as a sophomore in 2021 … Tallied 65 goals and added 10 assists in her sophomore season.
 
Personal: Daughter of Bryant and Sheila Keil … Has two older brothers, Hampden and Jack, and a younger sister, Lulu … Mother played field hockey at St. Lawrence University … Intends to major in business at DU … Goals include having a great academic and lacrosse career and end up managing a business in New York … Hobbies are skiing, hiking and baking … Member of National Honors Society and the school's Honor Roll.

Kiki Norton | Draw Specialist/Attack | Cranbrook Kingswood High School
5-9 | Bloomfield Hills, Michigan | Born March 18, 2005
 
Before Denver: Named varsity lacrosse captain of her high school team for spring 2023 … Participated in the 2022 USA National Team Development Program Combine … Started every game in her sophomore through senior years on varsity lacrosse … Named to the 2022 All-State Team … Won the 2021 Catholic league championship … 2021 Academic All-State award winner … Dean's List in ninth, 10th and 11th grades … Plays club with DEWLAX Black.
 
Personal: Daughter of Joe and Camille Norton … Has a younger brother, Joe … Father played football for four years at the University of Cincinnati … Intends to enroll in business at DU … Wants to eventually become an entrepreneur and pursue a career that helps small businesses succeed … Enjoys playing lacrosse in her backyard with her younger brother … Is learning how to box … Has volunteered with Detroit United to help teach lacrosse to children in Detroit

Kyra Obert | Midfield/Attack | St. Mary's High School
5-10 | Stevensville, Maryland | Born July 25, 2005
 
Before Denver: Champion of Inside Lacrosse Elite 8 in 2021 with club team Maryland United East … A multi-sport athlete in high school, participating in volleyball, basketball, indoor track and lacrosse … Averaged 3.0 points per game in lacrosse as a junior … Served as a captain for varsity volleyball in 2021, helping the team as a runner-up for the championship.
 
Personal: Daughter of David and Barbara Span Obert … Has an older brother, Nick … Father played tennis at the University of Notre Dame … Intends to major in business and marketing at DU and wants to be an advertising creative and brand director … Volunteers at Christ Church Soup Kitchen … Hobbies include digital art, backpacking and skiing … Participates in Spanish Club and Art Club at her school … Elected executive vice president of student government for her senior year … Member of National Spanish Honor Society during her junior and senior years and earned a Premio de Plata in the national Spanish exam as a junior … Elected co-president of National English Honor Society as a senior … Four-year Presidential Scholar and was Parvis Scholar as a sophomore through senior (sustained 4.0+ grade average) … Member of National Honor Society.

Before Denver: Plays for American Heritage High School and Florida Select '23 … Had 29 goals and 20 assists as a junior in 2022 and registered 30 goals and 20 assists as a sophomore in 2021 to help her team win the state championship … Named to both the 2022 First-Team All-Region and All-District Teams … Earned Second-Team All-Region and All-District honors as a sophomore in 2021 and was a Sun Sentinel Honorable Mention that season as well … Is a teammate at American Heritage and Florida Select with fellow Denver commit Alexandra Dorr.
 
Personal: Daughter of Michael and Eileen Riggio … Undecided on a major … Possibly interested in a career in biology and the medical field, working internationally or owning and operating her own business … Hobbies include hot yoga, going to the gym and hanging out on the beach.
 
Why DU: "I chose the University of Denver for a number of reasons. I'm excited to be a part of a team that has the opportunity to win a national championship every year. I also love the high-level academics that the school has to offer and the coziness of the campus."

 
Olivia Ripple | Midfield | St. Ignatius College Prep
5-7 | Ross, California | Born July 21, 2005
 
Before Denver: A 2023 St. Ignatius varsity and STEPS CA captain … Played club with STEPS CA since 2020 … A 2023 ADRLN All-American … Ranked first at her school in draw controls (88) and ground balls (45) while ranking third in goals with 57 during her 2022 junior year … Named the 2022 CCS League MVP and Midfielder of the Year and was also named to the 2022 First-Team All-Tournament American Select '23 squad … Was first in draw controls (42) and ground balls (45) as a sophomore in 2021 and finished third overall on her team in goals (34), the most among any midfielder.
 
Personal: Daughter of Ezra (Zeb) and Kate Ripple … Has a younger brother, Ezra (Max) … Both of her parents played Division-III lacrosse at Hamilton College … Undecided on a college major … Possibly interested in a career in real estate sales or interior design … Wants to win a national championship at Denver … Hobbies include skiing, surfing, hiking with her dogs, baking, cooking, babysitting and playing paddle tennis with her family … Is a lacrosse coach for the Ross Valley Grizzlies U10 girls' team and Steps CA '30/31 girl's squad … Participated in St. Ignatius Block Club (10-12th grades), One Love Club, Morgan's Message and St. Ignatius core community service project at Institute on Aging in San Francisco … Also volunteered at Extrafood Organization.
 
Why DU: "I chose the University of Denver because of the amazing team culture that I experienced on my recruiting visit. I witnessed the love between the players who treated each other like sisters, and I knew that I wanted to be part of a team with that sort of culture. I also bonded with the coaching staff and saw how supportive they were of the players on and off the field in both their athletic and academic endeavors."
