DENVER – The University of Denver gymnastics team is ranked No. 12 in the country in the Week 6 Road to Nationals rankings, which were released on Monday.
 
TEAM NATIONAL RANKINGS
Overall: No. 12 (196.800 average)
Vault: No. 12 (49.171)
Bars: No. 10 (49.267)
Beam: No. 9 (49.221)
Floor: No. 20 (49.142)
 
Denver improved its season average overall following its 196.850 against Iowa State on Sunday. Despite shifting its lineups, DU also increased its average scores on bars and beam following the team's second highest scores of the season during Sunday's meet.
 
This is the final week that rankings are determined by a season average. Beginning with Week 7 (February 21), rankings will be determined by National Qualifying Score.
 
INDIVIDUAL NATIONAL RANKINGS
Graduate Student Lynnzee Brown
All-Around: No. 11 (39.558)
Vault: No. 14 (9.894)
Beam: tie-No. 13 (9.900)
 
Sophomore Jessica Hutchinson
All-Around: No. 13 (39.538)
Beam: tie-No. 4 (9.925)
Floor: tie-No. 10 (9.925)
 
Hutchinson improved her three national rankings after the strongest meet of her career against Iowa State, scoring a career-high 39.625 in the all-around and adding a new personal best on floor (9.925). She also set or tied her season highs on the remaining three events.
 
Denver travels to Fort Worth, Texas, for a Big 12 vs. Pac-12 showdown at the Metroplex Challenge on Saturday, February 19. Joining DU will be No. 3 Oklahoma, No. 18 Stanford and Washington.
