Â
EYE ON THE RANKINGS:
DU begins the month of February ranked No. 7 in the country and maintains its top-10 rankings on vault, bars and floor. The team is also ranked in the top 15 on floor.
Â
Sophomore
Rylie Mundell is only one spot outside of the national bars rankings, tying for No. 26 this week. Fellow sophomore
Abbie Thompson is close to holding a national ranking and is sitting just .013 outside of the top 25 on beam.
Â
QUICK HITS:
- DU's freshmen continue to step up under pressure. Mia Hebinck was once again substituted into the bars lineup at the last minute at OU and led the team with a 9.900. Momoko Iwai competed on both bars and beam including unexpectedly moving into the beam leadoff spot last weekend.
- Sophomore Jessica Hutchinson continues to work back into the lineups, adding a bars routine at Oklahoma.
- Sunday's meet will be the first in 15 years between Denver and New Hampshire. The teams last met in January and February 2007, first in Denver and then at UNH. Denver won both match ups.
- Fans are encouraged to join the teams in wearing pink for the annual Centura Health Pink Meet to honor breast cancer survivors.
- Some Denver gymnasts will also be wearing different color ribbons to raise awareness for other cancer causes of their choosing.
- Graduate student Lynnzee Brown will miss the remainder of the 2022 season with an Achilles injury.
