FAIRBANKS, Alaska – Junior
Bernhard Flaschberger picked up his fourth victory in his last five races, winning the men's 10-kilometer freestyle on Saturday as the RMISA Invitational resumed with the Nordic portion of the meet at Birch Hill Recreation Area.
Flaschberger beat out Colorado's Magnus Boee by 2.8 seconds in the interval start race, finishing the course in 26:36.0. CU's Will Koch finished third in 26:44.8.
The Pioneers remain in second place heading into the final day of the meet, which spanned three venues over the past two-plus weeks. The alpine slalom was held at Bridger Bowl in Bozeman, Montana, on Jan. 20, while giant slalom took place at Park City, Utah, on Jan. 23. Denver trails Utah by just 81 points with 439 gained following six-of-eight eights. The CU Buffaloes are 40 behind the Pios with 399 points.
