[65] Denver and Illinois State Meet Friday in Summit League Semi

The Pioneers and Red Birds will meet for the second-consecutive match on Friday at 2 p.m. MT in Omaha
DENVER – The [65] University of Denver men's tennis team will open the 2022 Summit League Tournament in Omaha with a familiar foe, as the Pioneers clash with Illinois State for the second-consecutive match on Friday at 2 p.m. MT at the Koch Family Tennis Center.
Denver's regular season title was its eighth in its Division I history, including its seventh in the Summit League. In tournament play, the Pioneers have won six conference tournaments, including five in the Summit League.

Series History vs. the Field:
Denver vs. Illinois State
The Pioneers are 5-2 all-time against Illinois State, winning each of the last five meetings between the two programs. Friday will be the first postseason meeting between the two programs.
Denver vs. Drake
Denver has a 12-8 edge over Drake in the series, winners of each of the last two. The two programs have split the previous 10 meetings 5-5. Prior to Drake joining the Summit League ahead of the 2018 season, the Pioneers had a 9-6 edge over the Bulldogs. Since 2018, Denver is 3-2 against Drake. A potential meeting in the Summit League Final would be just the second between the two programs in the postseason with the Bulldogs winning 4-3 in Tulsa in 2019.
Denver vs. North Dakota
Denver is 4-0 all-time against North Dakota, including a 6-1 winner over the Fighting Hawks at the Denver Tennis Park in March. The Pioneers defeated UND 4-0 in the 2021 Summit League Semifinal at the DTP, the only previous postseason meeting between the two programs.
