6-foot-10 Hasson Signs with Pioneers

Incoming big man from Israel looks to bring length and shooting to the front court

DENVER  - University of Denver Men's Basketball head coach Jeff Wulbrun announced the addition of Yarin Hasson on Monday. Hasson has signed his National Letter of Intent (NLI) to continue his academic and athletic career with the Pioneers.

"We are thrilled to welcome Yarin to our DU basketball family," Wulbrun said. "He is a great fit for our culture and reflects our core values in all he does. He is such a skilled and unique player for his size. At 6-foot-10 and just 17 years old, he is so comfortable with the ball in his hands. He can use screens, initiate offense, shoot off the bounce, change direction and speeds, and even go full court off a rebound.

"His ball skills are complemented with great court vision and passing ability. We value length and versatility in our program, and we are so excited to have the opportunity to work with Yarin in the years ahead. He can be a very special player here at DU. He will also benefit greatly from his international experience on the Israeli national team."

The 6-foot-10 forward brings some high-level experience on the international scene with him being a member of the U18 Israel National Team.

At only 17 years old, Hasson has been considered one of the highest recruited European players in the class for 2022 by some, playing for Maccabi Rishon, one of the top youth academies in the country.

The sharpshooting big man will play for the U18 Israel National team in this summer's European FIBA Championship, one of the most prestigious tournaments in the world.

Denver will return to the hardwood in the summer to begin training for the upcoming 2022-23 season.
