Denver Adds North Florida’s Trey Cady to 2026-27 Roster

The 6-9 wing averaged 6.1 points and a couple of rebounds a game in his freshman season with the Ospreys

DENVER – The University of Denver men's basketball program has signed North Florida wing Trey Cady to its 2026-27 roster, head coach Tim Bergstraser announced on Monday.

Cady played in 29 games for North Florida out of the Atlantic Sun Conference. The new DU forward averaged 6.1 points and 2.2 rebounds in 11.9 minutes per appearance. Cady finished in double figures in six times in his true freshman season, including against a pair of top-10 foes in Florida and Gonzaga.

2025-26 (FRESHMAN AT NORTH FLORIDA):

Played in 29 of 32 games and made three starts in his freshman season…Averaged 11.9 minutes, 6.1 points and 2.2 rebounds per appearance…Finished in double figures in six games, including a season-high 22 on 6-of-9 shooting and 8-of-10 from the line on November 29. Posted 13 points, five rebounds and two steals at No. 3 Florida in November…Had 14 points and three rebounds at No. 9 Gonzaga on 5-of-10 from the floor. 

BEFORE NORTH FLORIDA:
Played his AAU ball for the Indy Heat…Did his postgraduate year at the Western Reserve Academy. 

PERSONAL:
Chose the University of Denver because the opportunity to attend and the fit with the program seemed like a complete match…Wants to play professional basketball after graduation…Enjoys reading…Mother played basketball and softball at Capital University and father played baseball at Ohio Dominican….Cousin attended DU in the late 2010s.
