STOCKTON, Calif. – The University of Denver men's golf team fought hard, barley missing out advancing to its first NCAA Championship since 1960 on Wednesday. The Pioneers finished the regional in seventh with a team score of 15-under for the three-day tournament.
Tournament & Course Info:
- The Reserve at Spanos Park
- Par 72
- 7,315 yards
- 14 teams
Significant Stats:
- The Pioneers' score of 849 ranks as their third lowest score of the season.
- No. 4 Arizona State took home the team title at 38-under, a ten-shot lead over No. 16 Stanford.
- The top five teams that advanced were the Sun Devils, the Cardinal, No. 46 Brigham Young, No. 28 Oregon and No. 38 Liberty.
- Denver made a valiant comeback that was fueled by a dominant performance on the sixth hole, with the team recording three eagles and two birdies in the lineup.
Inside the Round for the Pioneers:

Jackson Solem and
Carson Griggs were DU's top finishers, tying for 17th at 4-under. For Solem, he closes out his Pioneer career with a final round of 71.

Esteban Missura used a 2-under 70 to finish out the tournament tied for 27th.

John Sand capped off his DU career tied for 39th at even par (216).

Jun Ho Won finished up tied for 50th at 3-over.
